Career Clarity / Example planFictional example

A decision, made clearer.

Maya’s question
Change roles—or change how I work?
What matters to her
More influence. Stable income. A team she can learn from.
  • Move into product management

More influence on the roadmap. Starting salary still needs checking.

  • Reshape her current role

Familiar team and income. Scope for product work is still uncertain.

Her next step

Ask to lead one small product project before deciding to move.

You don’t need a job title to start finding direction.

Use Career Clarity wherever you are in your working life. Start with one decision, rather than trying to map out your entire future.

Starting out

Compare a first role, further study, or a different path. Identify what you need to learn through experience.

Ready for a change

Separate what you want to leave behind from what you want to move toward. Explore a change of role, employer, or direction.

Returning or rethinking

Bring your current responsibilities, energy, and income needs into the decision. Look for a workable next chapter.

From “what if?” to one useful next step.

A personality or strengths profile can give you language. Your experiences and priorities help you decide what to do with it.

  1. 01

    Understand what you bring

Name the work that energizes you and the strengths you have used in real situations. An existing assessment can help, but you can start without one.

  2. 02

    Compare what matters

Put two options beside your priorities and constraints. Keep evidence separate from assumptions, and turn unknowns into questions.

  3. 03

    Try before you commit

Choose a conversation, small project, or experience that tests one assumption. Decide what you want to learn before making a bigger move.

Your next step starts here.

Write a first draft of your decision. You can download your answers as a simple plan and come back to it after your next conversation or experiment.

For example: move into a new field or develop in my current one?

Consider your interests, income, flexibility, learning, or responsibilities.

Name one assumption you could check before deciding.

Be specific: who will you talk to, what will you try, or what will you research?

Your answers aren’t saved to an account. Download them before leaving or refreshing this page.

A few things you may be wondering.

Is Career Clarity only for professionals?

This page is for individuals exploring their own next career step, including students, career changers, and people returning to work. There is a separate Career Clarity package for coaches and advisers working with clients.

How is this different from Career Strengths?

Career Strengths is an assessment of your work-related tendencies. Career Clarity helps you reflect on a specific decision using your priorities, options, and real-world evidence. You can use a strengths report alongside the worksheet, but it is not required.

How does it compare with the other assessments?

Big Five explores broad personality traits; the Strengths Assessment explores personal strengths; emotional intelligence tools focus on how you handle emotions. Career Clarity focuses on what to try next in your working life. It does not replace those assessments or add a new psychometric score.

Will it tell me which career is right for me?

No. A career decision also depends on your experience, circumstances, opportunities, and what you learn by trying things. The worksheet helps you make your own reasoning more explicit and identify a useful experiment.

What is free, and what is paid?

Everything on this page is free, including the worksheet download. The existing Career Strengths assessment offers a free result and a separate paid detailed report. A fuller personal Career Clarity course is planned but is not on sale. The professional package is a separate offer for coaches.

Can I save my answers or use AI feedback?

You can download your answers as a text file. This worksheet does not save answers to your account, provide AI feedback, or share your plan with a coach. You choose whether to share the downloaded file yourself.
